DR. DONJUAN L. WILLIAMS

Among the many achievements you find in former Mayor Williams’ resume, an AA in Liberal Arts from Prince Georges' Community College in 1982, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science earned at Salisbury State University in 1983, and a Masters in Administrative Management/Human Resources Management from Bowie State University in 1992.Former Mayor Williams attained a Masters of Procurement and Acquisitions from Webster University in December 2020, and lastly Mayor Williams has a Doctorate degree and is a licensed Chaplin from Global Oved Dei Seminary University, 2018, indicates that one of his major concerns is for all to obtain a quality education. 

Former Mayor Williams is currently serving his 4th term on the Glenarden City Council, and has served 3 terms as Mayor of the City of Glenarden. Mayor Williams left office (due to term-limits) in June of 2001. He served as the Director of Community Outreach/Government Relations for the Governor's Office of Children, Youth and Families, and he previously served as the District Manager for Constituent Services for Congressman Albert Wynn, and as a Social Worker for the Department of Social Services.

In 1997, Dr. Williams was elected President of Maryland Black Mayors, Inc. He also served as the Parliamentarian on the Board of Directors of both the World Conference of Mayors and the National Conference of Black Mayors. During Dr. Williams last year in office he was elected Vice President of the World Conference of Mayors.

He is the founder and CEO of DJ Williams and Associates, Inc., a company that provides marketing, management, training, consulting and motivational speaking; as well as specializing in strategic planning, political campaign consulting , business development and Lobbying for local governments.

Former Mayor Williams retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves with over 28 years of service as a Mobility Officer. Chief Williams served 3 tours of duty in Iraq and Southwest Asia. Councilman Williams is a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials and Maryland Basketball Officials Association with over 37 years of experience being a basketball official. 

Mayor Williams is a member of Unity Baptist Church in Washington DC. 

Mayor Williams is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is a participant in various youth mentoring programs.

Mr. Williams served as a Legislative Aide to Delegate Sylvania Woods, Jr., as Deputy Campaign Manager to Congressman Albert Wynn, and Campaign Manager of Delegate Brenda B. Hughes 25th District of Prince Georges County, Maryland.

Mr. Williams is a retired Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves with 28 years. He had with 3 tours of duty in Iraq and Southwest Asia.

Mr. Williams is a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials and Maryland Basketball Officials Association with over 30 years of experience being a basketball official.

Mr. Williams is a member of Unity Baptist Church.
